Public BBQ

A small, inventive park at Wright with a boardwalk crossing its wetlands and waterways, and more going on than its size suggests. Soft rubber play hills in bright colours take the place of conventional equipment, musical sculpture poles ring out when struck with a hand or a stick, and a little lookout gives somewhere to sit. Several picnic shelters with tables are dotted around, the one by the play area with a barbecue, and there are bicycle racks, bins and a bubbler. Adult exercise stations form a fitness trail through the park, and the whole place makes a pleasant short walk. Two things to plan for: there are no toilets and no carpark, and the play area itself has no shade over it.
